A blog made with pictures, broken English and my vague "castellano" language.

Thanks Brian Hua for pushing me to make this blog. Work hard Brian...

This little mountain (about 10.000 Ha, 25.000 acres) call Sierra de Carrascoy, is where I grew up. How can you place the mountain in the world, HERE. My father used to work in a big farm on this mountain, so I had the chance to explore what was going on in these hillsides.

Este blog lo actualizo según la vida (trabajo, familia, etc...) me va dejando tiempo, por tanto irregularmente.

THE SOIL MATTERS o EL ARTE DE DESTRUIR EL PLANETA

THE SOIL MATTERS

Sometimes the experiments come out by itself. Let's take a look to these pictures. The same irrigation schedule, the same fertilizers, the same climatic conditions, the same vegetal material. What is going on here, why the differents colors of the lemon trees, from the dark green to the light green? The answer, the soil. This artificial landscape is the results of moving the soil from the hills to the seasonal stream watercourses, with the aim of gain land to cultivate. This land management produce soil areas with nutrients and soil areas deplete or poor in nutrients. And most important of all, plant needs nutrients to stay healthy.
